Narrative:25th MARCH,1944.
2/Lt Donald Weigle, 56th Fighter Group, 62nd Fighter Squadron Halesworth, had taken P-47D 42-76559 up for an air test when he suffered engine failure. He force landed on the marsh but instead of sliding to smooth stop it mounted the river bank with the resultant damage.
