Lysander T1469, assigned to 2nd Gunnery & Tow Target Flight, 8th Air Force. A/C abandoned due to mechanical failure, 13/11/1943. SOC 14-Nov-43.
The pilot over target towing mission, given orders to abandon the Lysander III AX358 when after 35 minutes it was discovered both the right bomb rack and the right landing gear were missing. A/c was flown to the coast and crashed after both of the crew members had safely baled out.
