Narrative:
Written off (damaged beyond repair) December 2, 1979 when ground looped on landing on a wet/icy runway at Mathis Field Airport (San Angelo Regional Airport) San Angelo, Tom Green County, Texas. All four persons on board (pilot and three passengers) were either not injured, or only slightly injured. According to the following excerpt from the official NTSB report into the accident:

"TYPE OF ACCIDENT
GROUND-WATER LOOP-SWERVED ON LANDING: LEVEL OFF/TOUCHDOWN; NOSE OVER/DOWN ON LANDING/GO AROUND
PROBABLE CAUSE(S)
PILOT IN COMMAND - IMPROPER OPERATION OF BRAKES AND/OR FLIGHT CONTROLS; DELAYED IN INITIATING GO-AROUND
AIRCRAFT CAUGHT FIRE AFTER IMPACT"

Registration N444JW cancelled by the FAA on December 23, 1981 - just over two years later
