PRECAUTIONARY LANDING OFF AIRPORT: SUSPECTED MECHANICAL DISCREPANCY. RAN INTO A DITCH DURING LANDING ROLL, NO LOW PITCH STOP ON PROPELLER. PILOT NOTED HI RPM DURING CLIMB OUT. THROTTLED BACK BUT DIDN'T CHANGE PROPELLER RPM.
