Narrative:Written off (destroyed) 22-07-1958 when Engine caught fire on startup at RAF Brüggen, Elmpt, North Rhine-Westphalia, West Germany. Cause attributed to a hydraulic leak in the area between the engines igniting. Both crew - Flt Lt R.A.R. Carrey (pilot) and Flt Lt Alec Cooper (navigator) - escaped safely.
