Narrative:
Written off (destroyed) August 15, 1976 when crashed north of Interstate I-80 at Overton, Nebraska: aircraft struck the ground in a steep nose down attitude. Aircraft was destroyed when caught fire after impact. According to the official NTSB report into the accident: "Pilot in command continued VFR flight into adverse weather conditions: attempted operation beyond experience/ability level; spatial disorientation"

Cloud ceiling in area estimated to be about 3-400 feet with haze. Both persons on board (pilot and one passenger) were killed.

Aircraft destroyed: registration N8953C cancelled by the FAA on November 24, 1976
