Narrative:
C-FBAQ took off from Goose Lake Ice Strip after delivering cargo. After gear retraction the crew noticed that the right main landing gear light indicated it had not locked. The crew cycled the gear to discover the right main landing gear would not extend. After an hour trying unsuccessfully to dislodge the malfunctioning right main landing gear, the crew landed on the nose gear and left main landing gear. The right wing dropped and contacted the runway, sliding for some distance. During the landing, No4 prop was ripped off as the aircraft veered off the runway. The No3 prop was seriously damaged, with the blades bending in the accident. The wing was damaged, having scraped along the runway and grass areas of the field. Fixed TV cameras were aboard for the Ice Pilots NWT TV series.

C-FBAQ would be repaired and returned to service in 2013.
