Narrative:
An AMS Flight Carat A motorglider was destroyed when it crashed on a field near the street Hütten to Menzingen, ZH.
The 45 year old pilot died at location of the accident.

Causes:
The accident was caused by a collision with the terrain because the pilot lost control of the motor glider and was unable to stop the uncontrolled flight.
The following factors, individually or in combination, probably contributed to the accident:
- The accident type showed a demanding flight behaviour with regard to uncontrolled flight conditions.
- The pilot had little flight experience and had not been sufficiently instructed on the accident pattern.
- The airspeed was too low with regard to the prevailing gusts of wind.
It could not be ruled out that a sudden incapacity to act could of the pilot led to the accident.
