Forced landing on final approach to Pézenas Nizas Airport - LFNP following loss of engine power.
One occupant suffered moderate injuries, the other two escaped with non to minor injuries.
CONCLUSION
La panne d’essence est due à une préparation insuffisante du vol, à une gestion inappropriée du carburant en vol et à une décision inadaptée de poursuivre le vol.
Le commandant de bord de l’avion reste toujours en charge de la préparation du vol et ne doit pas se dispenser de la totalité des vérifications même s’il reçoit l’avis d’un tiers instructeur. La lecture seule des indicateurs du tableau de bord est insuffisante pour préparer un vol. Les informations figurant dans le carnet de route et, si possible, une vérification visuelle sont nécessaires. Le calcul des consommations doit également tenir compte des conditions de vent.
La différence entre l’autonomie théorique et réelle peut s’expliquer par la gestion de la mixture, la température élevée, les manœuvres exécutées à La Môle et le vieillissement du moteur.
