Lost during Normandy invasion (operation "Overlord"), no further details.
On June 6, 1944, Don Pratt, Deputy Commander of the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army, died in a plane crash. The temporary addition of steel plates under the glider caused the aircraft to be overweight, which is believed to be the cause of the accident．
