This 336 Squadron Spitfire ditched or crashed in the sea off Vouliagmeni, about 10 miles southwest of Hassani Airport, whilst taking part in an Air-Sea Rescue search. Pilot W/O Georgios Nikolopoulos (24) did not survive.
