Shortly after takeoff the aircraft, an experimental Viking built Dragonfly MK II, force landed to open field terrain sourhwest of Albertus Airport (KFEP), Freeport, Illinois. The airplane sustained substantial damage and the sole pilot onboard received minor injuries.
