Narrative:
Auster J/1N Alpha: First civil registered (C of R R5924/1) on 4/4/57 to Crop Culture (Aerial) Ltd., Torquay, Devon. (Address changed with effect from 16/6/59 to Bembridge Airport, Bembridge, Isle of Wight). Registration cancelled/lapsed 27/6/60 upon sale

Sold on and re-registered (C of R R5924/2) on 6/7/60 to the Portsmouth Aero Club, Portsmouth Airport, Portsmouth, Hampshire.

Written off (destroyed) 16/4/63: Whilst flying in bad weather conditions from Portsmouth Airport, Portsmouth, Hampshire to Shoreham, West Sussex, Auster G-APAR crashed into Sullington Hill, between Storrington and Arundel, West Sussex, where the South Downs rise to over 200 metres. Pilot survived the crash, although seriously injured

Registration G-APAR formally cancelled by UK Civil Aviation Authority 25/4/1963 as "destroyed"
