Narrative:
Written off (damaged beyond repair) 20 February 1976 when struck trees on take-off, stalled and crashed at a Private Airstrip, at Trafford Farm, Beneden, Cranbrook, Kent, killing both persons on board. Note that, despite several sources stating that Wing Commander Ronald Gustave Kellet was killed in this crash, he was not! He was the constructor of Luton LA-5 Major G-AVXG (and its registered owner) but was not otherwise involved in this crash. In fact, he lived to the age of 89, and died in 12 November 1998, some 32 years later.
The two who were killed in the crash had just bought the aircraft from Wg Cdr Kellett and were departing for their home base when the accident occurred. The strip no longer exists but the family still run the farm.

Registration G-AVXG cancelled by the CAA as aircraft "destroyed" 15 July 1976
