Narrative:
Gloster Meteor T.Mk.7 WH239: Notified as awaiting collection 29/2/52, delivered 4/3/52. RAF service was with 228 OCU RAF Leeming, North Yorkshire only

Written off (destroyed) 28/6/54: The aircraft lost its canopy shortly after take-off and was abandoned. It came to earth at RAF Scorton, near Scorton, Northallerton, North Yorkshire. Although the pilot decided to abandon the aircraft, he did not survive and was killed

The pilot had joined the RAF on 5/8/52, and attained the rank of Cadet Pilot on 10/12/52
