Narrative:
Armstrong Whitworth Siskin Mk.IIIA J7171, 41 Squadron, RAF Northolt: Written off (destroyed) 28/1/1927 when crashed into the garden of a house, Beatrice Avenue, Norbury, London SW16. Pilot and sole occupant - Flight Lt William Geoffrey Meggitt MC (aged 32) - was killed. According to a contemporary report in "Flight" magazine (February 3, 1927 page 60 - see link #3):

Royal Air Force Flying Accidents
As the result of an accident at Norbury, London, to a Siskin of No. 41 Squadron, Northolt, on January 28, Flight Lieut. William Geoffrey Meggitt, M.C., the pilot and sole occupant of the aircraft, was killed."

Siskin Mk.IIIA J7171 was one of a batch of 37 aircraft (J7145-J7181) ordered from Armstrong Whitworth, Whitley, to contract 439840/23 dated August 1923.
