Narrative:de Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunk T Mk 10 WK508: Delivered 11/1/52. RAF Service career was with 5 BFTS (Basic Flying Training School), 9 RFS (Reserve Flying School), and 63 Group Communications Flight, RAF Hawarden, Flintshire.
Written off (destroyed) 24/6/55: Engine failed on take-off from RAF Hawarden, Flintshire, the aircraft stalled and hit the ground. No reports of any injuries to the pilot - Flight Lieutenant D P M Simkin.
