231st Spitfire of the first production batch of 310: First Flown 14-6-39, delivered to 602 (City of Glasgow) Squadron 17-6-39. Substantially damaged when overshot landing, hit hedge & overturned at RAF Drem, East Lothian on 28-1-40. Pilot OK. Repaired and returned to service, being issued to 5 OTU on 13-7-40
