Narrative:
Pre-war Tiger Moth MSN 3574 (Gipsy Major #8949): first civil registered (C of R 7656) on 18.3.37 as G-AETP to the Bristol Aeroplane Co, Filton, Bristol, Gloucestershire, and possibly operated by 10 E&RFTS Yatesbury. C of A 5839 issued 15.4.37. Not impressed into military service; retained and operated by the Bristol Aeroplane Co as company 'hack' throughout war. MAP (Ministry of Aircraft Production) permit #29 (allowing the aircraft to fly in civilian markings) issued 26.10.45. C of A renewed 9.3.46. Registration G-AETP cancelled 4.6.46 as 'sold abroad' (by Airwork Ltd).

Re-registered in Netherlands as PH-UCA (C of R 438) 1.6.46 to NV Nationale Luchtvaartschool [NLS],Ypenburg. New C of R No 26 issued 1.10.49. Registration PH-UCA cancelled as withdrawn from use 26.10.50. Re-registered (C of R 282) 16.8.51 to same owner. Badly damaged on landing at Hilversum, Netherlands 4.2.52; repaired and returned to service. Re-registered 10.3.54 to J.J.A Brocker, Ypenburg, Netherlands and operated in Germany. Netherlands Registration PH-UCA cancelled 27.9.55 as withdrawn from use.

Re-registered in West Germany as D-EBYN [application for regsitration issued 26.6.55; reserved with effect from 31.8.55]. Delivered 15.11.55 to Flugsportvereinigung Kassel ev, Zierenberg.

Written off (destroyed) when stalled, crashed & destroyed by fire at Erzhausen, near Egelsbach, Darmstadt-Dieburg, Hesse 20.8.56 whilst taking-off on a glider-towing sortie from Frankfurt-Egelsbach Airport, towing Geier glider D-1382; pilot H Baumann killed. Registration D-EBYN cancelled 23.8.56.

Erzhausen is a village and a municipality in southern Hesse, Germany. It is part of the district of Darmstadt-Dieburg. Wixhausen, a borough of the City of Darmstadt, is just South of Erzhausen at approximate coordinates 49°57′0″N, 8°38′0″E.
