Narrative:
Blenheim L6756: Written off (damaged beyond repair) 19 December 1939 when crashed on landing at RAF Drem, East Lothian. No fatalities, but one of the four crew was injured. According to the official Air Ministry file on the accident (File AIR 81/1746): "aircraft accident, Blenheim L6756, 64 Squadron, 19 December 1939. F/Sgt E G Gilbert, Cpl F Malekin, AC.1 W C Dodge uninjured; Sgt H R Crowley injured".
The plane's engine failed during the flight. Blenheim L6756 made an crash -landing in poor visibility at Drem.

The official Air Ministry file referred to above (File AIR 81/1746) is "closed", and therefore unavailable for public scrutiny, for 82 years, until 1 January 2022. The decision to retain and close the file was taken by the National Archives in 2015 on the grounds of "Exemption 1: Personal information where the applicant is a 3rd party" and "Exemption 2: Information provided in confidence".
