Narrative:
Lost control in turbulent weather, throwing the pilot, Ens W. D. Billingsley, from the aircraft killing him. The Passenger,Lt. Towers, stayed with the plane, sustaining injuries when the plane hit the water. The first fatality in US naval aviation.
