Narrative:Takeoff at 22:43 hrs for participation in the second 1000 bomber raid; this time the target being Essen, Nordrhein-Westfalen.
The aircraft was shot down by the night fighter crew of Hauptmann Werner Streib & Oberfeldwebel Walter Ruscher of the Stab I./NJG 1, who were flying a Lichtenstein-equipped Bf 110 from Venlo airfield in the Netherlands.
The crew consisted of:

Navigator/Observer - Warrant Officer James Arthur Nutt - Royal Air Force
Flying Officer K. M. Eustachiewicz- Polish Air Force
