Homeward-bound, the aircraft was shot down by night fighter pilot Unteroffizier Eduard Kleinert of the 5./NJG 1, who was flying a Bf 110 from St Trond (Sint-Truiden) airfield.
All five rest in the Heverlee War Cemetery at Leuven in Vlaams-Brabant.
