A Scheibe Zugvogel IIIA glider was towed in the air by a towing aircraft and crashed near GŁnzburg Airfield (EDMG), Bavaria, after the tow cable was accidentally released, or broke at an altitude of 50 metres.
The pilot died in the crash and the glider was destroyed. The towing aircraft landed safely.
According to the BFU bulletin published later on this crash was caused by a non-mounted elevator flap.
