Narrative:
Written off (damaged beyond repair) 25-10-2006 when crashed on landing at Dunkerque Airfield (CQF/LFAK) is an airfield located in Les Moëres, 12 km (6 miles) of Dunkerque, in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of France.

According to a rough translation from French into English of the official BEA accident report:

"The instructor and student took off at 18 h 15 for an introductory flight on PA 28. They decide to go up to 800 feet and make some changes before to integrate into the traffic pattern. Weather conditions deteriorate with the arrival of a front. The instructor asks the student to shorten the circuit. At the end of the downwind leg, he takes the controls and configures the plane for landing, adopts a speed of 80 knots. In the final approach, the speed is 65 knots and flaps are positioned on the last notch.

The student explains that the visibility is very low under the rain shower and it is difficult to distinguish the track. The plane mid-track button. instructor believes that the remaining runway length will not allow him to stop. Under
the rain and the approach of night, the instructor prefers increase the power to take off again and land in the box
beyond the road bordering the runway end.

The plane does not take off, rolls on the wet grass and hit a drainage nozzle located in a ditch. He crossed the road and ends up in another ditch. The instructor is an employee of the club. He had planned this flight earlier in the afternoon. He arrived with a delay of half an hour after a flight from Merville.
