Following an inflight birdstrike shortly after takeoff, the aircraft experienced a noseover subsequent to the forced landing to soybean field terrain in Pitt County west of Pitt-Greenville Airport (PGV/KPGV), Greenville, North Carolina. The tailwheel equipped airplane sustained apparent substantial vertical stabilizer damage and one pilot received minor injuries. One of the two pilots onboard the aircraft was not injured.
