Narrative:Airspeed Oxford Mk.1, NM801 of 9 AFTS (Advanced Flying Training School) RAF: Delivered to 9 AFTS 12/2/1952. Written off (damaged beyond repair) 24/4/1952 in a taxying accident at RAF Long Marston, three miles South West of Stratford-on-Avon, Warwickshire.
During the landing run, the aircraft "bounced" on intial touchdown, swung off the runway and ran into soft ground. The aircraft then overturned. Although the aircraft was wrecked (damaged beyond economic repair), the pilot was apparently uninjured.
