Narrative:Gloster Meteor F4, VT335, 206 AFS (Advanced Flying School), RAF: delivered 17/11/1948. Written off 29/10/1953 in a landing accident at RAF Oakington, Cambridgeshire
During the landing run at RAF Oakington, Cambridgeshire the undercarrriage collapsed, and the underside of Meteor VT335 was extensively damaged. Although the aircraft was written off (deemed "damaged beyond repair"), the pilot appears to have escaped uninjured.
