Narrative:
On 24 February 2022, a Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29UB fighter trainer aircraft piloted by Volodymyr Kokhanskyi along with Roman Pasulka from the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade was shot down and crashed in the area of Sukholisy, Bila Tserkva Raion, Kyiv Oblast. The memorial to the two pilots, erected in Bloshchyntsi, Bila Tserkva Raion, Kyiv Oblast indicates that both pilots perished in the same aircraft accident. This fact indicates that the two were flying a MiG-29UB trainer aircraft. This two seater variant of the MiG-29 is notable for lacking capability for operating in a demanding air environment, lacking an onboard radar system and only including infrared tracking.
