Narrative:The airplane was landing on a 2,000-foot-long, 80-foot-wide, turf runway. The pilot reported that the airplane touched down approximately 500 feet beyond the approach end of the runway, left of runway centerline. Shortly after touchdown, the airplane began to veer left, and the pilot attempted to correct with full right pedal deflection and full right braking; however, the airplane continued left. The airplane subsequently traveled into a cornfield, rolled right, and impacted the ground.
Probable Cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control while landing.
