On 1 August 2023, a Ukrainian Army Aviation Mil Mi-24 gunship helicopter was downed by air defence forces of the Russian Federation. The aircraft was downed in the vicinity of Mykhailivka, Beryslav Raion, Kherson Oblast. Drone footage of the crashed aircraft was published by Russian military blogger channels.
The Russian Ministry of Defence claimed responsibility for the downing in a briefing on 2 August 2023.
