Narrative:A hard landing occurred during the seventh circuit of a training flight. This prompted the Left MLG condition lights to turn OFF and the red light for MLG “unsafe condition” to become illuminated.
The FI decided to roll down the runway, with a reported speed of 80kt and take-off with the objective to perform another approach.
A landing gear recycle was attempted and then gear down selected, however the red light of the unsafe condition remained ON.
A low pass was performed to receive the tower input on the landing gear down condition, that was confirmed. During the landing on runway 03 with the left main gear not locked in down position, the aircraft suffered a runway excursion off the left edge of the runway.
