Narrative:
On August 26th, 2023, Changan Airlines Flight 9H8409 carried out the Wuzhou-Sanya route mission. At 10: 32 a.m., at the moment when the runway taxied and was about to take off, a black kite (belonging to an eagle) with a wingspan of 1.3 meters bumped into the angle of attack sensor on the left side of the plane, causing the sensor to break off and then be sucked into the left engine, causing engine damage. The plane was caught in an emergency. At the moment of impact, the left steering column of the aircraft continued to shake violently, many instrument data were wrong, the steering force of the steering column increased, and the warning sounds in the cabin were everywhere, and the aircraft was out of control. At this time, the remaining length of the runway in front was insufficient. Captain Yang Zilong made a decisive decision, fully manipulated the steering column, pulled up the plane and continued to take off, and decided to return to the field after reaching a safe altitude. After the impact, observer Huang Weimian sat in the back seat, and all three instruments were in his sight. The instrument on the left side failed almost completely. After careful comparison, when the data of the standby instrument and the instrument on the right side were found to be consistent and normal, Huang Weimian immediately reported the information to help the unit preliminarily identify the fault and identify the reliable airspeed. At 10: 32: 13, Captain Andy Long handed over the next maneuver to the right co-pilot Cao Liang. After continuously monitoring the instrument and assisting the captain to complete the operation of taking off from the ground, he was ready to take over the subsequent operation. After 1 minute, the plane climbed to a safe height of 1,500 meters, which made time for accurate identification of aircraft faults while ensuring that it would not collide with obstacles on the ground. At 11: 00: 20, Changan Airlines flight 9H8409 landed safely, and all 183 people on board were safe.
