Narrative:DJI Matrice 300 UAV: Substantially damaged 17.11.2023 when collided with overhead power lines while involved in a possible bird strike (or attempting to avoid a bird strike) over Carlisle, Cumbria. The incident was the subject of an AAIB Correspondence Only Report dated 11.1.2024, and the following is the summary from the report:
"The UAV moved un-commanded into a power line, either because it was hit by a bird or because the UAV detected the bird and moved autonomously [to avoid a bird strike]".
