Narrative:DJI Matrice 300 RTK UAV: Substantially damaged 27.11.2023 when collided with trees near Ripon, North Yorkshire. The incident was the subject of an AAIB Correspondence Only Report dated 11.1.2024, and the following is the summary from the report:
"The UAV was flying over some trees as part of an automated mapping mission. The remote pilot looked down at the controller, and when he looked up, he could no longer locate the UAV. Subsequently there was a loud whirring noise observed from the woodland area, which was presumed to be the UAV striking trees. The UAV was found at the base of a tree close to the last GPS location".
