Narrative:THE PILOT EXPERIENCED AN ENGINE FAILURE AND ALLOWED THE AIRSPEED TO DECREASE UNTIL THE AIRCRAFT STALLED AND SPUN TO THE GROUND. THE CAUSE OF THE ENGINE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE PILOT RECEIVED SERIOUS INJURIES AND THE HOMEBUILT AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.
