Narrative:A WITNESS OBSERVED THE AIRPLANE SLIPPING ON FINAL APCH. THE AIRCRAFT LOST TOO MUCH ALTITUDE AND HIT THE TERRAIN SHORT OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRPLANE DAMAGE INDICATED THAT THE PILOT FAILED TO CORRECT THE SLIP CONDITION IN TIME TO ARREST THE DESCENT.
