Narrative:Ex-USAF 87-0715, delivered to Indonesia under FMS Program Peace Bima-Sena 26 March 1990. Issued to 3 Squadron, Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Udara, TNI–AU (Indonesian Air force). At some point in its service with the TNI-AU, it was painted in blue and yellow, and was one of the "Blue Eagles" display team.
Written off 11 March 1997 while attempting to land during bad weather, the aircraft crashed into the landing lights for the runway at Halim Air Base, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (Indonesian: Bandar Udara Halim Perdanakusuma) (HLP/WIHH), Tjililitan, East Jakarta, Indonesia.
The pilot was returning from a routine exercise over Jakarta. The pilot, Captain Dwi Sasongko of the TNI-AU demonstration team the 'Blue Eagles', was killed.
