Narrative:
Took off from RAF Middleton St George at 09:46 on 15-8-1944 to bomb an airfield. Failed to return from operation over Soesterberg on 15 August 1944, in a 1,004-aircraft daylight raid on Luftwaffe night-fighter airfields (Soesterberg) in Holland & Belgium in perfect visibility; over the target, the aircraft received a direct Flak hit; blew up and crashed near Amersfoort, Holland, throwing clear the pilot and his flight engineer. 5 crew killed, 2 PoW. Those who perished rest in Amersfoort (Oud Leusden) General Cemetery.
WO Jakeman was part of Trupp 30 He arrived at Bankau on 4 September 1944.
Sgt Wright was part of Trupp 28. He arrived at Bankau on 29 August 1944
