Hit over the Zuiderzee (now IJsselmeer lake) at 01:01 by night fighter pilot Major Werner Streib of the Stab/NJG 1, flying a Bf 110 G-4 from Deelen airfield.
The Halifax, heavily damaged, ditched in the North Sea.
The aircraft was on an SOE operation to target area Parsnip 7 / Lettuce 12.
