Narrative:
Hawker Hunter F.Mk.1 WT581: First flown 3/2/54. Delivered to the RAF at 5 MU RAF Kemble 5/8/54. Reportedly served (very briefly) with 222 Squadron, RAF before being taken on charge on 7/12/54 with 43 Squadron as "S"

Written off (destroyed) 12/7/55: Ran out of fuel at the end of an air test including aerobatics and manual landings. Crashed 1 mile west north west of Leuchars after the engine cut on final approach.
Crew:
F/O (3045196) Alan Mackillop Watkinson (pilot) RAF - ejected too low (at 250 - 500 feet) did not separate from the seat, and was killed
