Narrative:
Ex-USAF 78-0337, delivered to Israel under FMS Program Peace Marble I 20 April 1981. Written off on 13 September 2009 when crashed at 13:45 hours local near the village of Bnei Haver, south of Hebron, Daoud Zatari, Israel.

The F-16 dived into the ground from 18,000 feet after executing ACMI training. The pilot, Lieutenant Assaf Ramon (son of Col. Ilan Ramon, who died in the Space Shuttle Columbia accident on February 1 2003) was killed in the accident. Probable cause was G-LOC (G-induced Loss of Conciousness), as the pilot did not respond to radio calls, nor did he eject or attempt to initiate the ejection sequence

Assaf Ramon was posthumusly promoted to the rank of captain at the age of just 21.
