Narrative:Fairey Gordon Mk.1 K2739, 14 Sqaudron, RAF Amman, Transjordan: Written off (damaged beyond repair) 8/10/37 when stalled on approach & spun into ground being Destroyed By Fire, at Mudawara RLG (Relief Landing Ground), Transjordan. All three crew were killed:
Flt/Lt Archibald Harold Houghton RAF (pilot, aged 28) killed.
Flt/Lt Harold George Adams RAF killed.
Flying Officer Edwaed Gough RAF killed.
According to the official Air Ministry announcement in "Flight" magazine (October 14, 1937 page 384 - see link #3)
"FLYING ACCIDENTS
The Air Ministry regrets to announce the following accident:—
Flt. Lt. Archibald Harold Houghton, Flt. Lt. Harold George Adams and F/O Edward Gough lost their lives in an accident which occurred at Mudawara on October 8 to an aircraft of the Royal Air Force Station, Amman, Palestine. Flt. Lt. Houghton was the pilot and the other two were passengers."
All three crew were interred in Ramleh War Cemetery (see link #5)
