Narrative:During the initial climb of a testflight flames erupted from the front engine bay and ignited the envelope. The airship crashed in flames killing all 28 crew members.
It is believed that insufficient ventilation and the lack of vent trunks led to an accumulation of diffused hydrogen within the newly designed hull structure, where it was taken in and ignited by the forward engine car.
