Narrative:
Beaufighter LZ134/L: Take of at 19:36 hrs for Recco mission. 21/07/1944
Crashed on take-off at Strubby, prop of port engine feathered.
Crashed on the aerodrome 5 minutes after take off due to port engine bracket failure.
The C of I found that the pilot intended to bellyland but lowered the u/c instead of flaps in error.
Crew:
F/Lt (130141) Peter LE BROCQ (pilot) RAFVR killed
Sgt (1324464) R.E.DAVIS (WOp/AG) RAFVR injured.
