Narrative:
A C-47B transport plane crashed into the Mediterranean Sea en route from Algiers, Algeria to Florence, Italy. Weather along the route was overcast clouds at 2000-3000 feet with snow storms along the way. The flight had taken off from Algiers at 11:03 hours with a planned arrival time at Florence of 15:43 hours. Last radio contact was at 15:06 when the flight was vectored down from 12,000 feet to 6,000 feet.
The plane likely impacted a mountainside on Corsica or in the area to the north of Pisa, Italy.
