A Jetstream 41 struck a large bird upon landing at Venetia Mine Airport in South Africa. Photos from the scene show that one of the no.2 engine propeller blades had separated, penetrating the fuselage. There were no injuries to the passengers or crew.
Unconfirmed reports say the aircraft hit a Kori bustard, a large bird with a typical length of just over 1 meter and a weight of between 7 and 18 kg.
