Narrative:
Written off (destroyed) September 22, 1970 when ditched into the Pacific Ocean near Seattle, Washington: aircraft was engaged in a flight training sortie to and from Seattle, practising spinning and spin recovery. Altitude of spin entry considered sufficient for recovery. Both persons on board (instructor and pilot under training) were killed. According to the following excerpt from the official NTSB report into the accident:

"PROBABLE CAUSE(S)
DUAL STUDENT - FAILED TO OBTAIN/MAINTAIN FLYING SPEED
PILOT IN COMMAND - INADEQUATE SUPERVISION OF FLIGHT
FACTOR(S)
WEATHER - TURBULENCE IN FLIGHT, CLEAR AIR
MISCELLANEOUS ACTS, CONDITIONS - AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST IN WATER"

Aircraft initially posted as "missing" until wreckage found and located. Recovery date of wreckage September 26, 1970 (four days later).
