Narrative:
Written off (destroyed) October 10, 1977 when flew into the sea at night off Charleston, South Carolina whilst the aircraft was searching for a missing boat. Records indicate one night flight during last six months. Both persons on board (pilot and one passenger) were killed. According to the following excerpt from the official NTSB report into the accident:

"PROBABLE CAUSE(S): PILOT IN COMMAND - MISJUDGED ALTITUDE
FACTOR(S): MISCELLANEOUS ACTS,CONDITIONS - AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST IN WATER"

Registration N7585Y belatedly cancelled by the CAA on February 4th 2017 - almost 40 years later!
