Narrative:
A Bell 412 helicopter was destroyed when it crashed into Mount Dua Saudara, approximately 25 km from the departure airport, killing all 10 on board.
The wreckage was not located until early August 3 at around 2 a.m. local time. One survivor was found, but he died in hospital. The helicopter was chartered by PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals.

The flight was conducted under VFR while the weather was below the VFR minima.
This accident was classified as Controlled Flight into Terrain (CFIT) where an airworthy aircraft, under control of the pilot, un-intentionally collided with terrain.
